The Desktop support specialist will provide advice and assistance to customers encountering software/equipment problems. 

JOB DUTIES:

  •         Perform technical support work pertaining to local area network connectivity, equipment, software and hardware and provides support in the installation, maintenance, advice and assistance in all computer related areas.
  •         Will answer calls and respond to electronic mail from customers relating to account and password questions, file restoration problems, hardware/software troubles, and networking problems.
  •         Will assist users in PC setup and configuration.
  •         Required to track status of problem to assure resolution, record resolution, and perform customer call backs.
  •         Provide unit level maintenance on multi-functional /multi-user information processing systems, peripheral equipment, and associated devices in mobile and fixed facilities. 
  •         Supervise, plan, coordinate, and provide technical support assistance for 800+ network infrastructure.
  •         Serves as the subject matter expert for systems analyst functions, unit level maintenance, and provides management of multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems in mobile and fixed facilities.
  •         Assist in the creation of user accounts
  •         Technical user support and IT related service calls for Mobilizing/Demobilizing units on ground.
  •         Assists in computers imaging as required.
  •         Facilitate the management and services for telephonic and peripheral devices to include wireless phones.
  •         Shall monitor and assist all online incident tickets to the Network Enterprise Center on Ft. Bliss
  •         Assist and coordinate all network infrastructure expansion to include future planning projects.
  •         Required following S-6 Section SOP and propose updates as situations change.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  •         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems required
  •         Must be A+, NET+ and Security+ Certified (Baseline and Computing Environment Certifications) and CISSP
  •         Certification in Microsoft 2000/XP operating systems preferred
  •         Knowledge of hardware connectivity requirements for Video Teleconference (VTC), TNET, and VTT systems, and in the management, troubleshooting, and repair of all IT, VTC and audio-visual systems.
